There
are not enough words to describe the impact and influence
Bruce had not only on Lexington Jazz Project, but on the entire
musical community, family, and friends that he shared his love and life with.
Bruce was the definitive voice that gave Lexington Jazz Project its
unique sound. He was always open to developing new ideas that kept
the group moving to the 'next level', a term that he himself
coined that became the band's mission.
I
feel lucky to have known Bruce as a friend and fellow musician, and I will
always carry him in my heart and soul whenever and wherever I may play.

As
a musician, Bruce was the consummate giver, taker and listener. It was never
all about Bruce; it was always about the band having a collective voice.
He was the instigator of that thought process.. by using his humor, his faith
and his love for his fellow musician, those attributes separated him from
the rest of the pack. It did not matter if he was playing with a consummate
professional or a beginner. Bruce loved the spiritual and musical interaction
between fellow musicians and had the rare gift of nurturing that interaction
during performances.
My life is better because of Bruce. He left an indelible mark on my sprit and my love of music. He will never be forgotten....

Bruce
Martin was one of the most beautiful human beings I've had the pleasure of
knowing during my life.
I also thought the world of him. He made great musical strides during the
time that I knew him.
The Lexington Jazz Project had a unigue sound thanks in part to his tasteful
sound on his instrument and the wonderful solos he played.
I also had some very interesting discussions with him.
I miss Bruce very much.
